Shot in Ireland in 2007, the movie tells the story of an orphan boy who finds a new life on a remote island where he comes to terms with his surroundings, the local folklore and learns the secrets of seals.

The production stars Aidan Quinn (Legends of the Fall, Benny and Joon, Stakeout), Connie Nielson (Gladiator, Devil’s Advocate, One Hour Photo) and introduces John Bell as Tomas.

Featured in the film is Smudge, a fully anamatronic seal pup created at Neil Scanlan Studios and puppeteered by Brian Herring.

Neil’s crew created and performed a pup so realistic that director Vic Sarin chose to use the  anamatronic over any footage of real seals!

This will be his ninth stint as the ‘mean green mother from outerspace’!  He will also act as puppet consultant for the design and building process of the four plants.

The animals themselves were created by Cliff Wallace and his team at Creature FX.

Adaptor/Director David Wood (OBE) has already begun working with the talented cast.

Suzie Caulcutt’s beautiful costumes and set look like they have stepped right out of Anita Jeram’s illustrations.

Brian will be working with actress Emily Altneu to bring Scott Brooker’s wonderful puppets to life in this charming adaptaion of Sam McBratney’s internationally beloved children’s classic.

‘Guess How Much I Love You’ will be a  live, musical version of the globally acclaimed, modern children’s classic written by Sam McBratney and illustrated by Anita Jeram.

The book will be adapted for the stage by writer/director David Wood OBE, whose other stage successes include; ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’, ‘Fantastic Mr. Fox’, ‘The Gingerbread Man’, ‘The Witches’ and ‘Babe The Sheep Pig’.

Brian will be acting as puppet coordinator for the production, which will have it’s world premiere at Kingston’s Rose Theatre on the 19th of May before embarking on a national tour.

The cast also includes Matthew White as the voice Charlie the Mouse puppeteered by Erin Lister, Simon Lipkin and Michael Matus, this small company will be playing over 30 roles!

With music by Steve Edis and choreography by Frank Thompson.  The puppets will be designed and built by Scott Brooker.

A Christmas Carol is the first in what will be a five year initiative between Tiny Tim Productions and the Arts Theatre, presenting Christmas entertainment for family audiences. This year the Arts will transform its front of house areas to create a Victorian themed foyer offering Dickensian treats.

The show will run from November 25, 2009 (previews from November 11) to January 10, 2010.

This will be Brian’s third stint with the production having covered in the West End run and split the early part of the tour this year with Andy Heath and Iestyn Evens.  The full cast has yet to be announced.

The tour is a limited run of six weeks and will visit the following venues:

Red appears between the shows on Virgin 1’s recently re-branded TV channel.  In the idents he can be seen out and about around London and found on Facebook and Twitter!

Brian and Mak Wilson have spent some very close times with Red over the last few weeks and will be getting festive with him very soon!

He provided movement data for a variety of characters including Russell Brand, Andy Murry, George W. Bush and the dancing French President Sarkozy.

TT Animations’  first television project, conceived by Chris Dicker and written by Jocelyn Stevenson is currently running on Nick Jr in the UK as well as around the world.

Brian plays Anthony the Anteater who thinks he’s an ant and Peek the worker ant.  This show was the first of it’s kind, using a combination of motion capture, live sound and digital puppetry.

Brian provided both the physical movement as well as the voice performances for the characters.  He also flew to Canada to help the voice artist who would replace him for the CBC version.
